A strong team is a peer-driven community. Members of a team support each other and train together regularly. As part of Team OSI, you’re part of a growing community and you’ll receive consistent support and development opportunities year round..

 

Team OSI brings together high school students from across the state to inspire and support each other in creating change within themselves and the places they call home. Young people work together with professional coaches and a growing network of adult allies to build skills, gain confidence, form relationships, and push each other to redefine what is possible. Our goal is to strengthen a network of people capable of creating a cultural shift in their communities; supporting, building, and growing outdoor sport opportunities for themselves and others. Ongoing Development Opportunities in Outdoor Sport

As an athlete on Team OSI, we get outside together regularly every season to improve our skills and share our passion. There are year-round opportunities to join fellow Team OSI athletes and Head Coaches from across the state for single and multi-day trainings focused on helping you meet your sport specific goals. At the same time Team Coaches travel to connect with you where you live.

Team Gatherings

Team OSI Athletes represent a variety of interests and passions in the outdoors, Our Team Gatherings happen throughout the year and across the state, and they create a space for all athletes to meet one another and learn together. These are great opportunities to bring your friends along and see what being a part of Team OSI all is about.

Team Gear Library

It can be difficult to get access to the gear you need to take part in outdoor sport. The Team Gear Library allows you access to critical equipment you need to keep your personal training and adventures going.

Resource Library

The team resource library gives you access to tools to help you find success during your personal training and adventure time, as well as articles and resources written or discovered by your coaches and teammates.

We develop and curate unique content exclusively for our team. As an Athlete on Team OSI, you’ll receive monthly newsletters and weekly posts from OSI Head Coaches to help you continuously improve and redefine what is possible

Ongoing Development in Outdoor Sport

In the Community Coach Network you have access to opportunities throughout the year to engage in the sports your passionate about, develop your skills, and meet other team coaches from around the state to share ideas and best practices.

Community Resources

Interested in renting an OSI Equipment trailer for a program in your community or school, or access curriculum to help you with your youth ski program? OSI provides key resources to help make programming a reality, including award winning curriculum and a statewide equipment rental fleet capable of supporting community programming. What's available to you

  • A network of your peers, passionate about growing outdoor sport at the community level
  • Resources that help you develop your ability as an advocate, leader, and coach of outdoor sport activities where you live
  • Ongoing opportunities to progress and develop your skills in outdoor sport, either non-competitive, competitive, or both
  • Curriculum to support programming efforts
  • A statewide equipment rental program, including bikes, xc skis, snowshoes kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards
  • A full-time team of coaches committed to your success

What's required of you

  • Being an advocate for outdoor sport in your community
  • Sharing your experience and knowledge, however big or small, within the Coaches' Network

Does it cost anything to join?

No, Team OSI is free to join.  Individual development opportunities throughout the year have fees associated with them, and there is scholarship money available to team members.

 

What do you mean by outdoor sport?

Outdoor sport can encompass many things to many different people. At OSI we are focused on human-powered activities that, at their core, are about interacting with and traveling through the natural environment - running, hiking, skiing, paddling, and biking.

 

Do I have to have any experience in outdoor sports?

No, just a willingness to learn!

 

I'm interested in a course on your calendar, do I have to join the team to participate?

Experiences like our athlete development courses and coach workshops are open for individuals to participate in and experience without having joined Team OSI. Ongoing participation beyond your initial experience, however, requires team membership.
